Common questions about admission to Pangani Girls Senior School

What is the minimum KCPE score for admission?

The minimum KJSEA score for consideration is 65 marks. However, due to high demand, the actual cut-off point may be higher depending on the number of applications received. We consider both academic performance and other factors such as leadership potential and co-curricular involvement.

How are students selected for admission?

Selection is based on a combination of factors: KJSEA Performance (70%), Recommendation from previous Primary/ Junior Secondary School (15%), Performance in Co-Curricular activities (10%), and Special Talents or Circumstances (5%). The admission committee reviews all applications holistically.

Can I apply for transfer from another school?

Yes, we accept transfer students, subject to availability of vacancies. Transfer students must have excellent academic records, good conduct, and valid reasons for transfer. The process includes assessment of previous school reports and an interview.

What is the school fee structure?

School fees are determined by the Ministry of Education and vary by year. The complete fee structure is provided in the admission package and includes tuition, boarding, activity fees, and other approved charges. Fee payment plans are available for eligible students.

Are scholarships or bursaries available?

Yes, Pangani Girls Senior School offers limited scholarships and bursaries to academically excellent students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Applications for financial aid must be submitted along with the admission application and include supporting documents.

What are the reporting dates for new students?

Reporting dates are communicated in the admission letter. Typically, Grade 10 students report in early January, while transfer students report at the beginning of the term. Specific dates and reporting procedures are provided in the admission package.
